Summary

XTC Studio is a local-first application. Your audio files, transcripts, and extracted content stay on your machine. We do not collect, store, or transmit your content to our servers.

Desktop Application

What stays local

• All audio and video files you process
• All transcripts and extracted content
• Your API keys (stored in your system keychain or local preferences)
• Your prompt presets and extraction configurations
• Your license key (stored locally for offline validation)

What leaves your machine

• AI API calls: When you run extraction, transcript text is sent to the AI provider you selected (OpenAI, Anthropic, or xAI) using your own API key. These calls are governed by that provider's privacy policy, not ours.
• Transcription (cloud mode): If you select AssemblyAI cloud transcription, your audio is uploaded to AssemblyAI for processing. See their privacy policy for details.
• License validation: When you activate a license key, a single request is sent to LemonSqueezy to validate it. Only the license key is transmitted.
• Crash reports: Not collected. No telemetry, no analytics, no tracking.

Free Web Tool

The free web transcription tool at xtcstudio.com/tool collects:

• The YouTube URL you submit (processed and discarded)
• Your IP address (used only for rate limiting, not stored persistently)

Transcripts generated by the free tool are not stored on our servers after delivery.

Website

The marketing website (xtcstudio.com) does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics services. If you join our waitlist, we store only your email address for the purpose of product updates. You can request removal at any time.

XTC Studio integrates with third-party APIs. When you use these services through XTC Studio, their respective privacy policies apply:

Data Retention

We do not retain your data. All processing happens locally or via your own API keys with third-party providers.
